I've spent nearly 30 years helping people get comfortable with technology that felt overwhelming at first.My career was built in healthcare IT — training thousands of employees at organizations like Sentara and UnitedHealthcare on complex systems that most people found intimidating at first glance. My job was to make the complicated feel manageable. And I got really good at it.A few years ago, my path took an unexpected turn. And in the process of figuring out what came next, I discovered something: the same skills that made me good at healthcare IT training — patience, plain language, meeting people where they are — were exactly what people needed to understand AI.I started teaching friends. Then friends of friends. And what I kept seeing was the same thing: smart, capable adults who just needed someone to explain AI without the hype, the jargon, or the assumption that they were already tech-savvy.I don't teach AI tools. I teach AI judgment — the ability to know when to use AI, how much to trust it, and when to push back.
